Kristy Hensley, M.S.

Resident Therapist

Kristy earned her Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University in Orlando, Florida. Having lived in Florida for 25 years, Kristy recently returned to Tennessee, her home state, and is currently working toward licensure in Tennessee. While in Florida, she worked in a private Christian practice, was on staff and lead groups with the CARE ministry at her home church, as well as at a local crisis pregnancy center, providing restoration and mental health counseling.
Kristy works with individuals, couples and groups and believes there should be no shame in seeking therapy. Helping others find the keys to realizing their full, God-designed potential is what she is passionate about. Whether struggling with adjusting to life transitions, relational difficulties or divorce, stress and anxiety, the effects of trauma or loss, insecurity or co-dependency, with warmth and encouragement she allows them to “be where they are” as they journey toward hope and healing. Using multiple integrated therapeutic approaches, Kristy loves to add creative elements to meet each client’s specific needs.
Married and the mother of 2 grown sons, 2 grown step-daughters and a chubby grandson, Kristy has experienced many life stages and challenges and knows how it feels to need support and to overcome! Spiritual statement: I believe God restores and redeems us in order to inspire us to help others find those same blessings. John 10:10 says: “The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.” And Isaiah 61:1-3 says: “…He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners …beauty instead of ashes …joy instead of mourning…praise instead of a spirit of despair.”
